Reading brings joy to my life. It’s an outlet that allows me to momentarily escape my hectic and stressful days. Lately I’ve been hooked on reading books on the supernatural. Reading about vampires, zombies, werewolves, witches, and demonic stuff excites me. It all started when I read the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. The story was cheesy and corny, but I still enjoyed it. After that, I read The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare. I devoured those three 500+ paged books in a week. Even though I am not a fan, I think it’s okay to incorporate Spanglish elements into a conversation with family and/or friends; but I don’t think it’s okay in a professional  and/or formal setting. “Oh snap!” That was the first thing I blurted out as soon as I heard the song Under Pressure by Queen playing in the background; it was my ringtone and alarm tone at the time. I loved the song, but hated what it meant at the moment; that it was 4:30 a.m. and I had to get up, wake the others, and get ready to go to Mona. I cursed under my breath while I got dressed and packed what I needed to survive out in the wild for four days and three nights. I had never even been out camping before, but seriously, that’s not what I was worried about. (more…)
