No bread? Cracker!

Pris’ life in a nutshell

Priscilla was born in New York. At age 7 she moved to Camuy, Puerto Rico with her father, grandmother, and brother. She went under the impression that it was a vacation, but as you see, she’s still on that “vacation”. She knew not one word in Spanish and had to learn the language rather quickly; although you’d think it’s her first language since it’s what she uses 75% of the time. Besides moving around a lot within the same town, her life has been uneventful until she graduated from high school.

Since early age Priscilla was certain that she’d be a doctor but decided, a year before graduating, that that career wasn’t for her. She ended up applying to become a part of the Industrial Biotechnology Program at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. Three years later she finally accepted that she wasn’t interested in the field and ended up studying Industrial Microbiology instead. After taking an Introduction to Linguistics class she has been persistent in wanting to get a degree in English as well, which she will do if she is allowed to.

Her closest friends would describe her as a reliable individual, she’d describe herself as an introvert, her family would say she’s a grouch, and strangers would most likely say she’s serious and unsociable.

Amongst her hobbies are: reading, listening to music, playing poker, dominoes, and chess, watching television, and text messaging. You might ask, what does she like to read? She’ll read almost anything, but lately she’s been focusing on books that feature vampire, such as: Anne Rice’s “The Vampire Chronicles”, Laurell K. Hamilton’s “Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Series”, and Charlaine Harris’ “Sookie Stackhouse Series”.

There are two things she can’t live without: coffee and music. Some of her favorite music artists are: Coldplay, Ednita Nazario, Lady Gaga, Leona Lewis, Metallica, Muse, Pavarotti, P!nk, Queen, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Tommy Torres, etc. She’s also a fan of Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, and Puccini.

Something some people don’t know about her is that she could watch television for hours and hours. Some of her favorite series are: Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, Flashforward, Glee, House M.D., NCIS, The Turdors, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and V. She’s a movie freak as well, amongst her favorites are: 51 dates, Cast Away, Forrest Gump, Meet Joe Black, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Silence of the Lambs, and What Dreams May Come.

Just like anyone else, she has some guilty pleasures. She really enjoys reality shows, eating in bed, and walking barefoot.

This is her life and likes in less than 500 words.

Hi there! We have very similar taste when it comes to tv and music. That’s very cool. Also, you should totally go for the English degree. I’m in the Linguistics track in the English Department and it’s very interesting. Another cool thing was that when you mentioned the vampire themed books you didn’t mention Twilight but instead mentioned Anne Rice. Awesome! I’m Paloma by the way.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the Twilight books (except the second, New Moon, it was too depressing for me). Nice to meet you, Paloma!

Hi Priscilla! I don’t like reading too much but I love music, tv, playing poker and dominoes. You have a very assorted taste in music, which is great, I really like all the artists you mentioned. I also really like CSI and finished watching a couple of weeks ago True Blood, it’s an addictive series I loved it!
